Bananas Record First Win in Franchise History

Savannah Morning News:

SAVANNAH, GA – In the teams second game in franchise history the Savannah Bananas register their first ever win as members of the Coastal Plain League, with a 8-6 victory over the Holly Springs Salamanders on Wednesday.

6 foot 6 inch Greg Hollman, Sophomore at Savannah State put in a quality start for the Bananas going 6 innings while scattering 7 hits. Savannah was able to put up 8 runs, half of which came in a four-run fourth inning, courtesy of a very product lineup that produced hits from eight different players.

Clay Dungan, Logan Moody and Tanner Johnson all cashed in multi-hit games and kept the Salamander arms at bay. Coming off the win is a quick turnaround for Savannah as they get set for their home opener tonight in front of a sellout crowd of more than 4,000 people. First pitch is at 7:05.
