Bananas Win Sixth Straight Home Game

The Bananas won 10-5 over the Florence RedWolves in their first home appearance in more than a week. Continuing the sell out streak, the team also added to their home winning streak, with their sixth straight win at Grayson Stadium.

The game got to a slow start, with a forty-minute rain delay followed by four scoreless innings.

Florence got on the board first, putting up three runs in the fifth inning. Christian Hollie responded for the Bananas with a 2-RBI double in the bottom of the inning.

The Bananas tallied up eight more runs in the sixth inning to secure the lead. Jacob Southern started off the power inning by tying up the game 3-3. Bryce Fischer secured the lead and then some with a grand slam over the right field wall. Two more runs gave the Bananas a 10-3 lead as they headed into the seventh inning.

The RedWolves attempted to come back, but were unable to close the gap through the final three innings, ending the game down 10-5.

The Bananas will be back at home for a sold out Salute the Troops night on Saturday before the Coastal Plain League All Star game. Limited tickets remain for the game following the break, Wednesday, July 12th.
