Six Bananas Named Top Prospects

SAVANNAH, GA – The Savannah Bananas are excited to announce that six players from their 2016 season have been named top prospects by Perfect Game. Jameson Hannah, Logan Moody, Beau Sulser, Christian Hollie, Nick Choruby, and Colby Weaver were among thirty athletes named to the list of Summer Collegiate Top Prospects for the Coastal Plain League.

Rising sophomores Jameson Hannah (OF, Dallas Baptist) and Logan Moody (OF/1B, Georgia) both represented the Bananas as starters in the 2016 CPL All-Star game. Hannah, ranked third on the list, was also named to the All-CPL first team, with a .374 batting average and 34 RBI. Moody finished off the season with a .351 batting average.

Beau Sulser (RHP, Dartmouth) joined Hannah and Moody at the All-Star game, and was also named to the All-CPL first team. Perfect Game also named him to the 3rd Team Summer Collegiate All-Americans. The fifth-year senior was one of the league’s top pitchers, with a 1.21 ERA in 44.2 innings pitched.

Another Bananas pitcher, rising sophomore Colby Weaver (LHP, Dallas Baptist), was named to the All-CPL first team. He recorded a 2.47 ERA and 4-0 record over 40 innings pitched, with seven starting appearances.

Christian Hollie (SS/2B, UT-Arlington), a rising junior, and rising senior Nick Choruby (OF, Texas A&M) round out the list for the Bananas.

The Coastal Plain League is the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league.
