Thank you West Palm Beach for the largest Bananas game of all-time. What a magnificent stadium the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches is, and to see the place packed with nearly 8,000 Nanners fans Friday night was just absurd in the best way possible. While we were bumping elbows with the likes of Jose Altuve, Juan Soto, Albert Pujols, Don Mattingly, and a laundry list of other legendary major leaguers throughout the weekend, there was an unmistakable curious excitement from all of them when we talked about what the Bananas are doing. There was also something special about our two Bananas games being sandwiched between Astros games against the Marlins and Cardinals. In a stadium swarmed with top tier big league talent all weekend the Bananas were the main attraction. Surreal stuff. So let’s delve deep into why Barstool, Snoop Dogg, Shaquille O’Neil and SportsCenter were tuned into Bananaland throughout the weekend.
The Bananas started the weekend off on the right foot with a 1-2-3 first inning from Kyle, Don’t Sleep on the Captain, Luigs. His partner in crime Bill, Gillum Should Have Had Me as a Leadoff Hitter Too, LeRoy, singled and scored on a two-out, 1st inning walk-off single from Dakota, The Rocky Point Wrecker, McFadden.
Kyle repeated his 1st inning performance with some help from a fan, and he honored the man in the stands appropriately…
It was so good that it only felt right that @Kyle_Luigs5 bowed down to him from the pitchers mound. https://t.co/CwRmCZNY08 pic.twitter.com/mrlj32P04R

Lucas, Kill em’ with Location, Kelley, matched Kyle’s perfect frame with one of his own in the bottom of the 2nd.
Kyle plunked Zak, What a Weekend for the OBP, Whalin, but then struck out three straight to continue his dominant outing. In the bottom half, Christian, The Iron Horse of Bananaland, Vasquez worked a walk/sprint and Stephen, We Need Even MORE Cameras, Felton, smoked a shot to the left-center field wall for an inning walk-off to give the Nanners a 2-0 lead.
Kyle finished his day by giving up his first hit of the night but then promptly getting a 4-6-3 double play, as the 5-year Banana tossed four scoreless frames while striking out 5.
Then we had the largest Hey Baby in Bananas history…
The biggest crowd means the biggest Hey Baby in Bananas history. Brings a tear to our eye ngl 🥲 pic.twitter.com/z6YVzyvSko

Just an eye-boggling sight. What an incredible crowd.
Stephen, I’m back, back again, Chamblee, threw a scoreless bottom of the 4th in his return to the Party Animals for the first time since last spring.
Alex, Checkout the Strikeouts Though, Pierce, gave up two runs in the top of the 5th on three walk/sprints to Cosimo, Hey Hey Hey, Cannella, Andrew, Good to see My Namesake, Don, and Zak Whalin. But Pierce also picked up three strikeouts to strand Zak on the bases and give the Bananas a chance to salvage the inning.
Jake, Just Passing the Baton, Skole, doubled to lead off the bottom half and D-Mac sprinted his way to 3rd to push home Skole. Michael, RBI is Literally My Middle Name, Deeb, brought in McFadden with a groundout and the inning was knotted at 2 runs apiece. Dan, ADRIAN!, Oberst, singled and Malachi, I Really Like Banana Ball’s Pinch Running Rule, Mitchell, pinch ran for him. With two down, Vazzy came up to the dish and basically put a dagger in the Party Animals for the evening…

Just things you love to see right there.
Collin, The Phoenix Phenatic, Ledbetter, came in and threw a scoreless top of the 6th with some help from his left fielder…

In the bottom half Stephen got hit by a pitch, stole second, and scored on an inning walk-off walk/sprint from Malachi Mitchell to give the Bananas a 4-0 lead.
Oh and Dakota, We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Lens, Albritton, got an at-bat, to the delight of Barstool Sports…

For all those who are wondering, I’m talking about how sad I am that the legendary Hopper of the Man Nanas couldn’t make it to West Palm Beach for the weekend. We missed you, Triss!
The Party Animals got a run off a pinch hit solo home run off the bat of Nick, Kneel Before Your King, DiBenedetto, and that’s how the game would end due to the two-hour time limit. Bananas win 4-1.
The thing is after the game SportsCenter saw what we had done in the third inning and they really liked the way Kyle Luigs moved that tuchus…

The World Wide Leader in Sports weren’t the only people impressed by Kyle and his backup dancers’ moves…

We’ve had a custom uniform in the equipment closet for you since 2016. Come get yourself an at-bat, Snoop.
Shaq also took the opportunity to repost the video on his Instagram story, which unfortunately is un-linkable so you’ll just have to take my word for it. Anddddd here’s a link to our Tik Tok of it which is the first video we’ve ever had go north of 25 million views…

Before we got going for the only day game of the World Tour, Bananas starter Christian, I Want a New Roommate, Dearman, had some things to get off his chest…
Tanner Thomas and the Party Animals have dominated in the locker room games.
Let's just say Christian Dearman from the Bananas isn't taking it too well… pic.twitter.com/BCuADt63TJ

In Dearman’s defense, it’s been remarkable how dominant Tanner, I’ve Been Doing this to Him Since the TCC Days, Thomas, has been owning him in literally every competition.
When it came to game time Dearman and Emmanuel, Read the Sign and Weep, Rosario, traded scoreless frames. The Party Animals pushed an unearned run across in the top of the 2nd, but D-Mac immediately erased it with a solo shot to left in the bottom half…
Johnny Bench takes over as the first base coach for the Nanners and Dakota McFadden immediately rakes one to left field. Coincidence? We think not.

Ahh, right, I forgot to mention the greatest catcher in the history of baseball was coaching first base for the Bananas. Thanks for having fun with us for the day, Johnny! Three straight singles from Danny Oberst, Ryan, Textbook Hit-and-Run, Cox, and then the walk-off blow from Christian Vasquez put the Bananas on top.
Down 1-0, the Party Animals bats exploded in the top of the third netting 3 runs (2 of them earned) on 5 singles.
A Dalton, Gotta Blast, Mauldin, steal of first base got the Bananas going in the bottom half…
Someone get the police 👀 Dalton Mauldin just stole first on a passed ball 👀👀 pic.twitter.com/pE1GE6kJiO

Mr. LeRoy followed that up with an RBI walk/sprint, and then Reece, I’ll Take Two Bags for the Price of One, Hampton, doubled in Malachi who once again was pinch running.
But Manny was able to hold the Bananas to just those two runs and the Party Animals tied the game at one.
Dearman finished his afternoon with a scoreless top of the 4th and Sean, Give me Vava or Give Me Death, Fluke, returned the favor in the bottom half.
The Animals snagged a run with back-to-back 2-out walks from DiBenedetto and Breland, Watch Me Crawl, Almadova, off of Mat, I’m Here to Shoot My Shot, Wolf. Bill made sure the inning was over with after that though…
A saucy throw from @bleroy28 to catch the runner at second.

Garett, I’m a Problem, Delano, sliced and diced the Bananas in the bottom of the 5th to give the Party Animals their first lead of the weekend…
Well… this is awkward pic.twitter.com/YkgspYp3Ws
— Savannah Bananas (@TheSavBananas) April 2, 2022
It was two straight K’s from Garett after Vazzy had reached on a single to start the frame.
The Party Animals kept the pressure on the Bananas by playing another run in the top of the 6th on a Sam, Don’t Let Us Get Hot, Claycamp, single and then a Jacob, This is the Way, Teston, RBI walk/sprint.
Delano struck out the first two men he faced in the bottom half to make it four straight Nanner’s down swinging and then got a pop out to Donny Banana Ball to secure the 3-1 victory for the Animals.
There are a few more highlights to share from the day, the first of which is Mat Wolf starting his inning from the shotgun…

And how could I not mention Jake Skole’s WWE inspired walkup…

And last but certainly not least is Bill’s between the legs toss down to second…

All in all, it was a truly magical weekend down in West Palm Beach. We can’t thank all the folks enough who came from far and wide to pack the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches. What a beautiful arena for Banana Ball, and once again none of this would be half as amazing as it is without the best fans in the world bringing an unhinged amount of energy to every game.
Thank you for reliving another ludicrous weekend of Banana packed action with me! The World Tour goes back to Savannah this weekend for two more games in glorious Grayson Stadium. These games will be on ESPN+ and then we’ll return to The Tube (YouTube), for the games in Columbus and Birmingham next week. I hope to see you all in Savannah or on The Plus (as we call it in the bis), Friday and Saturday night!
